E!Online Interviews Guest Star Courtney Ford

E!Online has interviewed Courtney Ford (Dexter) about her upcoming role on The Vampire Diaries as Vanessa Monroe. She gives some hints at what may be ahead for her character…

“I play Vanessa Monroe, a Duke University grad student who’s helping Alaric (Matt Davis), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) with Isobel’s research. It’s a really nice arc.”

Isobel, Elena’s birth mom and Alaric’s wife, was so obsessed with vampires that she persuaded Damon to turn her into one. Is Vanessa going to ask the same favor of the sexy Salvatore brother?

Not a chance, Courtney dished. “Vanessa has a conflict, because she studies all this wonderful mythology and folklore, but half of her is a complete skeptic. Half of her is a believer, and half of her is a skeptic, and she goes back and forth. It’s a big conflict for her.”

When we asked Courtney whether Vanessa would see any action in the romance department, her reaction revealed that she’s obviously hooking up with someone…but Courtney’s lips are sealed: “I want to tell you so much, but I can’t,” she said, laughing. “They’ll kill me if I reveal too much!”

Popwrap Interview with Katerina Graham

Popwrap has interviewed the lovely Katerina Graham about her first official single “Sassy” from her upcoming album that will be released in the first quarter of 2011, her anticipated movie project “Honey 2″ and, off course, Vampire Diaries.

Warning: It contains spoilers.

PopWrap: I’m addicted to “Sassy,” how far along are you in the recording process?
Kat Graham: Thank you, I’m so happy people like it! We’re not quite done yet, but we wanted to put stuff out so you could get a taste so when I drop an album, you’re not like, “wait where did all this pop fabulousness come from?” I’ve been constantly recording – when I wasn’t shooting “Vampire Diaries,” I’d fly home for 16 hours and record as much as I possibly could. Then I’d come back to Atlanta & record out here. The process never really stopped for me.

PW: What made you pick “Sassy” as your official debut?
Kat: I like to see what the fans like and what they’re gravitating towards – “Sassy” was on the blogs and I was pushing it independently — I noticed it getting all this traction, so the fans decided – at least in my mind – “Sassy” would be the first single, or the first official song from me as an artist. Malese Jow Helps Us to say “Goodbye” to Her Beloved Anna

Since I suppose you’re all still grieving Anna, here’s an exclusive interview with Malese Jow with Hollywood Crush.

Here are some excerpts:

Malese wanted to express her gratitude one more time to Team Anna and the rest of her “Vampire Diaries” fans. “I love them to death, and I thank them so much for their support.”

Hollywood Crush has thought about several ways for Anna to come back next season (”New Moon”-style visions? Evil twin?), but we like Malese’s idea the best. “My whole thing — because of course, I think about this too. If Katherine can look just like Elena, there are ways. I’ve thought about it, and I thought maybe my mom had Emily put a spell on me to where no Gilbert could hurt me. So Johnathan’s stake was ineffective.”

Ian and Nina Give Scoops about the Finale

May 13, 2010 by Alex
Filed under Cast & Crew, Episodes, Interviews, Spoilers

Kristin from E!Online has interviewed Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev and they share some scoops about tonight’s finale and some for next season, including confirming a character return.

Finale Freak-Out: Things are not looking too peachy for the Mystic Falls folks going into tonight’s first-season finale. “It is so unbelievably jam-packed, so much happens,” says Nina. “Every episode ends with a massive cliffhanger.” But, Ian tells us, “the finale has seven or eight ‘oh my god’ moments–cliffhangers. People are going to die, there are going to be more vampires in town. It will not disappoint, but it will upset some. And some characters are going to step out of their comfort zones and do things that are normally uncharacteristic of themselves.”
Like, oh, the brothers Salvatore working together to protect sweet Elena? “There’s a lot of relationships being forged,” says Ian. “Elena has this band of brothers who are not going to let anything happen to her. They are hell-bent on protecting her and working as team.”

Stefan and Elena: According to Nina, “They’re trying to figure it out. They’re trying to go day by day, and Elena is definitely behind him 100 percent.” But, she says, pointing at Ian, “This one is in the picture, and Elena’s developed a friendship with him. She’s starting to realize he’s not completely evil, that he’s doing everything that he does for love, for Katherine, this woman that he truly cared about.”

Damon and Elena: These two are hopeful for a Dalena (?) hookup, but nothing huge to report yet. “[Show runner] Kevin Williamson was discussing a bit of next season and they have a pretty good idea of what they’re doing up until the first half,” Ian tells us. “There is some cool stuff.” “Then again,” adds Nina, “everything always changes.”

Damon and Stefan: When Nina poses the question of whether or not Damon really loves his brother or if this is all a game, Ian is quick to explain: “Damon loves his brother! Of course he does. Just like Stefan. Stefan could have let Damon die five times. But it will be interesting to see the varying degrees of that love when you mix the love of a woman with the love of a brother–things get a little hairy.” Did Ian just say Damon loves Elena? We’re choosing to believe, yes!

Damon and Alaric?! Matt Davis is returning for more vampire-hunting fun next season, and Ian, for one, is thrilled. “He just came into this group and fit right in. Matt’s just as crazy of a degenerate as all of us are. So organic.” Couldn’t agree more!
